Coming soon… Sync media between your PC and Phone with the Click of a button

August 1st, 2008

With a user friendly set up and an easy to use selection process Migo is introducing its Migo Mobile Media this month. A very handy product, allowing you to now easily manage all of your contacts, photos, music and videos within both your PC and your mobile phone world.
The program syncs the two devices to update one another’s database on any chosen folders containing media. Your outlook on your PC and your smart phone will no longer have varying contact information leaving you wondering which is the most current or stuck at the airport without a phone number.

On the media side, music can be taken from any format or program into the correct file for your phone’s musical capabilities. Your entire itunes library can be converted into music files for your phone in only seconds. Additionally all of those great photos that you took at such picturesque moments with your camera phone can now be uploaded to your pc instead of being stuck on your phone and eventually lost forever due to lack of space.

Have you ever tried to put a video on your phone and found that it won’t play full screen? You are then left staring at the already small phone screen trying to depict a quarter size video. Well no more does this need to occur, with Migo Mobile Media the program reads the screen resolution of the phone and adapts the video accordingly. With this feature a movie for the commute everyday is a piece of cake.

An editor’s review showcases the benefits and drawbacks of the program:

If you’re sick of hopping from one chatware program to another, looking for the perfect mix of video, audio, and text socializing, CamFrog might be what you’re looking for.

The chat rooms feature everything from music lessons to sign language to non-English chatting, and integrating video, audio, and text components are a great leap forward for chat communities since a Webcam is not a requirement. Be warned, though: There’s also a slew of X-rated chat rooms–this is not a program that kids should use without supervision.

Free Software Review: Revo Uninstaller

January 26th, 2008

You know those apps that you have on your PC that, from the moment you installed them you knew you were never going to use again? Revo Uninstaller is a better way of getting rid of them.

Rather than having to wait for the Windows Install/Uninstall process to go through each one to get rid of the program and then having to search for files associated with the program on your own, the Revo Uninstaller scans your computer before and after you delete an application, making sure that every trace of it is gone.

According to reviews:

Revo also provides some powerful tools. Advanced mode adds program-specific Registry key access to the context menu. The Tools Optimizer holds the Autorun Manager, Windows Tools access screen, and a Junk File finder/killer. The Autorun Manager provides one-stop shopping for startup tweaking. Windows Tools pulls together various and disparate basic utilities under one umbrella, and the Junk killer is just killer.

The Tools Tracks Cleaner accesses cache-cleaning features, include standard browser cache functions as well as crash memory dump files, MS Office cleaners, system-wide and program-specific search histories, and more. Another cool function is the Hunter, which offers click-and-drag uninstall and process-killing functionality. Revo and the way that it will revolutionize your uninstall workflow is hard to pass up.

Why settle for lackluster results when you delete an application? Click here to download the Revo Uninstaller.

Free Software NoteTab Light

January 23rd, 2008

Note Tab Light

Web editors are always looking for a quick and easy way to make changes throughout a site. Maybe it’s that there’s a sudden realization that US measurements are confusing to those who are looking from outside of the US; with NoteTab Light, all of those conversions can be made with just a few clicks of the mouse. Use multiple tabs to process documents all at once rather than opening a separate notepad file for each document.

Mostly, however, NoteTab Light aims to simplify the process of editing, inserting code, replacing text and even of uploading edited files:

(source)The left column displays a list of commands, called Clips, that do anything from inserting bits of text to generating code. Each library, the roster of which appears as tabs at the bottom of the screen, contains its own set of clips. The FTP library, for example, lets you create server profiles, connect, upload and download files, and issue various commands. The HTML library auto-completes HTML tags. The publisher’s site offers many user-created libraries, or you can make your own. You can create your own clips by pressing Ctrl-Alt-F2.

While some users site the challenges posed by a lack of spellcheck in NoteTab Light, most also praise the editor. Not sure if it’s right for you? Click here to download a free copy to put to the test.

Surfing the web is one thing. However, using that tool on a computer that isn’t your own - well, there’s always a bit of a risk involved in that.
